Using unc's with 2003 web server - 12/12/2005 13:14:00
I have two 2003 web edition servers and i cant seem to store the web on one and then add fpse 2002. iT keeps telling me that the web site exist's on another server (It Does) one is holding the data and the other the name.
I keep getting---- Warning: Your FrontPage web content is stored on a UNC share. Anyone will be able to browse the content of your FrontPage web. To enable FrontPage's access protection, uninstall the FrontPage server extensions, reconfigure your Microsoft Internet Information Server to use a local partition and reinstall the FrontPage server extensions. ----

This is what i want and 2003 said it worked. Anybody got the trick figured out??????

Hi JustJohn,

I'm running 2003 but I've not heard of the setup you're looking for (apologies for my ignorance). Does it have a name/do you have a link to an article explaining it (perhaps knowledgebase?) and I can have a look and try to help you out?
