Humongously wide pages using Netscape - 9/29/2001 16:30:00
The following page displays perfectly with IE Explorer but not with Netscape no matter what I've tried.

I've read many of the related posts in this forum, tried a few of the suggestions, but no progress.

Additional suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Inside your textarea tag for the comments try adding this and see if it helps.

wrap="virtual"

I think you'll also need to decrease the cols number from 99 back to something around 70 maybe.

You'll need to probably do this in the HTML view.

Don't forget to specify the background color. I think you probably want white, but unless you say so it will default to whatever the viewer has their browser set at (hot pink? eww...)

Just one of many things I've learned on these forums...

Gail,
Be careful setting a background color, if you set one attribute of the <BODY> tag you need to set ALL attributes, not just the BGCOLOR one.

Nancy, I tried this and, assuming I added the info in the right place, nothing happened. What's perplexing about this is that all other pages function properly when viewed in Netscape.

Any other thoughts would be very much appreciated? Thank you.

Hi Gail,

Netscape will always make form fields longer than MSIE - here's something I found by mistake, although it won't help in NN6.1

Other alternative is to make your fields a lot shorter.

Cheers

Another poster in this went in and fixed it for me. What a wonderful surprise and I am so grateful for the help. I'm too much of an html novice to understand what was done, but whatever it was, the form is working! Thank you all for your input. I've change the url if you want to go in an peek. gail
