yelruc2 -> Link Bar Problem - I Need Help! (12/18/2005 16:27:15)

I’m sure that this is not a unique problem, but in searching the other posts, I still can’t find the solution. I am attempting to add a new page to my website, but on the published site, the link bar for the new page is either blanked out or not listed at all, depending on which page you’re on.

I created the page by copying an existing one, renaming it and dragging it into the Navigation View. The link bars are based on Navigation Structure and are configured to display links to Child pages under Home and under Additional pages, the Home page box is checked. This is the same setup for all of the other pages.

When viewing the pages in FP, all of the link bars look and function normally. When the pages are published, however, some of the pages have a blank link bar for the new page. On others, the new link bar is non-existent. And the new link bars link to a page that no longer exists. I can’t find any differences in the way the pages are set up.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tried recalculating hyperlinks?

Welcome to OF btw![:)]

Hi Bruce and welcome to Outfront. I just read your post, and looked at the site. When you drag the page to your navigation structure, are you renaming that also?

If not try that and see what happens, think it might be that simple.

Hi Womble and Steve,

Thank you for your quick responses. Yes, I tried recalculating hyperlinks and renaming the page from the navigation page to no avail. It's interesting, but if I delete the page from the navigation view, then it goes away from the link bars, but only after republishing all of the pages with link bars. I've tried creating several new pages - some copies of old pages and some new from scratch. After publishing, they all leave a blank link bar on every page. I didn't have this problem when I was originally adding pages to the site, but now????

open the web live i.e. on the server and see what files are there. I would probably delete all the trouble pages and republish one more time.
