idletester -> Help Installing Windows xp-Pro on a 64bit system. (12/21/2005 4:43:15)

I have just bought an Abit Fatality AN8 SLi Motherboard, a Winfast PX7800 GTX TDH Graphics Card and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU. And I am trying to install Windows XP-Pro 64bit onto a 300gb SATA Drive. I have installed the drivers (NVIDIA RAID CLASS DRIVER) on a floppy disc and the (NVIDIA NForce Storage Controler) I have set-up the bios and the machine finds the SATA drive. I put Windows Disc into the DVD (Lightscribe) and try to install Windows. All seems to go well and I press F6 to install the drivers. This is alright and windows continues to load but at the end the machine just shuts down. I dosn't install the operating system onto the SATA drive. Can anyone help please as I have tried this countless times with the same result. The reason I wanted to put the OS on a SATA drive is mainly because I am using the IDE Connections for FOUR DVD Drives (One RW and three DVDROMS) Can someone please help solve this?
Thanks, James

I haven't tried it yet... only 64bit OS I've installed on anything was Linux (Gentoo and Debian)

Maybe this will help?

Did you first install the 32 bit settup and now you're trying to upgrade to the 64bit? Or are you starting over with a fresh install of the 64?
