Help Installing Windows xp-Pro on a 64bit system. - 12/21/2005 4:43:15
I have just bought an Abit Fatality AN8 SLi Motherboard, a Winfast PX7800 GTX TDH Graphics Card and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU. And I am trying to install Windows XP-Pro 64bit onto a 300gb SATA Drive. I have installed the drivers (NVIDIA RAID CLASS DRIVER) on a floppy disc and the (NVIDIA NForce Storage Controler) I have set-up the bios and the machine finds the SATA drive. I put Windows Disc into the DVD (Lightscribe) and try to install Windows. All seems to go well and I press F6 to install the drivers. This is alright and windows continues to load but at the end the machine just shuts down. I dosn't install the operating system onto the SATA drive. Can anyone help please as I have tried this countless times with the same result. The reason I wanted to put the OS on a SATA drive is mainly because I am using the IDE Connections for FOUR DVD Drives (One RW and three DVDROMS) Can someone please help solve this? Thanks, James
