Registar Transfer - 12/29/2005 12:36:57
Yesterday I started the process of transferring my register from Register.com to GoDaddy.com They say its going to take up to 5 days. Has anyone had experience they care to share regarding domain register transfer? Thanks! Rich

Thanks. I've got a client that after 5 years of doing nothing wants his site changed. Should be fun.

It does take longer from certain registrars (internal procedures etc.). In my experience, the slow transfers occur most often with the old registrars. Sometimes I am quoted 5 or 7 days when it only takes 2. I think they want the wiggle room.

NetworkSolutions took quite awhile last time I tried to transfer a domain away from them (week+ I think). I've done the same with Enom and it took about 1 day to transfer. NameCheap to Enon took around 2 hours. That's about all I can remember....
