508 and WAI -A - 12/30/2005 17:39:54
If a page is WAI-A passed then it is also 508 passed. That seems to be what I'm gathering but can't find it in writing anywhere. Does anyone know where I might find it?

This is what I found for you Rich, it seems that Priority 2's are also needed for Section 508 compliance. This may have changed since this item was first published though.

The US ruled in 1996 that web pages fall under the rules of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but specific guidelines other than "try to follow the W3C guidelines" were only announced late (as in December) of last year (2000). While most of the WCAG level I checkpoints are contained in the Section 508 Accessibility Requirements, many of the Requirements are Level II checkpoints.

A brief summary of the Requirements can be found at http://www.webable.com/508_guidelines.html The full and official text of the Final Rule can be found at http://www.access-board.gov/sec508/508standards.htm
