Getting Business Credit, PayDex, etc. - 1/6/2006 17:45:04
Okay, I am finally making the move from sole proprietorship to having all credit matters listed as a business. Has anyone used D&B's credit builder program? $499 is too high to pay outright, especially when I have been offered $199. I was looking into https://www.businessfinancecoach.com as well, but I don't have the time to do it all. What have you all done, if anything?

You might also check out score.org and the SBA. Some people have had success with those two organizations

www.score.org score translates to blah, blah of retired executives - fabulous organization - probably a local chapter near you. just as it says - retired (successful) executives who do this free - counsel small businesses. i highly recommend them.

My wife met with score a year or so ago and while she was impressed with the quality of the score consultants - they were fairly clueless about small business startup. Executives tend not to be type A entrepreneurs.

If I recall correctly the D&B business builder has gone up to about $500.00. Three years ago, I built a small business and decided that I didn't want to spend the cost of a D&B business builder program. I worked from scratch and built my credit profile in a matter of one year at the cost of zero dollars. Recently I decided to purchase the D&B program for my husband's business and found that it takes less time to build your profile, as you provide all information to them, however it doesn really seem to be worth the cost of the package.

mewcreations: the D&B creditbuilder is NOT worth it. for FREE (or close to free) you can do it yourself in a very short amount of time... and what bothers me more then anything is how they try to scam people into buying creditbuilder by LYING and giving all kinds of phony reasons why if you dont pay for creditbuilder your duns number will not be "live" ... The one thing creditbuilder does provide is a TL- as D&B reports themselves as one of your credit grantors witha CL of usually around $1000 which is pretty ironic- the business credit reporting agency D&B is lying on their own report that they gave you credit to boost your report- when they make you pay cash upfront! unbelievable...
