Windows 98 SE USB drivers - 1/14/2006 20:58:25
Here's the story. My father has an older PC and for Christmas, he and my mother decided they wanted an all in one printer, scanner, etc. So they bought one. However, the one they bought is strictly USB. Well, there older PC has no USB ports. So, I took a PCI USB hub out of an old PC that I have and gave it to them.
We are having a fit trying to get it to work. It appears the drivers are not installed. I have searched Google trying to find the appropriate drivers, but with not much luck. I am trying to convince my parents that they could get a low end Dell for under $500, but my father's wallet doesn't open very easily. He has no idea where his Windows 98 disk is and I only have XP which would never run on his old machine. If anyone has a good idea on this, please share.

I'll give it a go. I downloaded the unofficial service pack and will install that tomorrow. If not, maybe I will have to breakdown and buy them a new machine myself. It will save me fewer trips to fix things.

I think you need to get a copy of windows 98 se - with usb support - some of the earlier versions of windows 98 came with no usb support - thus wouldnt accept usb - hope this helps.
