Sharepoint vs FrontPage extensions - 1/18/2006 11:46:42
I am currently running a Win2000 server with iis5. It includes Frontpage 2002extensions and allows asp pages. I am using FrontPage 2003 and have users using FrontPageXP. We have outgrown this server and are planning on transferring the web site to a Win 2003 server running iis6. I would like the new server to run Sharepoint Team Services but keep running into confusion regarding FrontPage extensions. My question is, can or should I run both Sharepoint service and Frontpage extensions along with asp. If so, is there a best way to set this up? Does order make a difference? How will this affect for example, search pages created with FrontPage that are saved as asp? Will these need redone? Is there any other advice or words of wisdom before I embark on this journey? Thanks for any help or wisdom you can share.

OK. How about one question. I have built a 2003 server and installed IIS6. I have already installed FrontPage extensions 2002. I would like to add sharepoint team site. When I go to iis management console, Web Sites and right click on the SharePoint Central Administration and go to All Tasks, I thought I should see a Sharepoint Central Administration choice appear so that I could set up and run Sharepoint Team Services. Instead my choice are Save configuration to a file or Configure Server Extensions 2002. What do I need to do to get on the right track?
