Images not showing up live - 1/22/2006 13:33:52
I think this is a server issue rather than a graphics issue. I checked out one of my sites today (I wanted to reuse some code from it and it was quicker to just get it up on screen rather than trundle all the way to the PC where the files for that site are - I'm working on the laptop at the moment). Got the page up though, and no images!!!! wtf?!?!?!
The image paths are fine, worked okay yesterday and has done ever since it went live, but all that comes up now is the alt text. Nothing's changed recently. The files are still there where they should be on the server, and I tried uploading them again to see if that made any difference, but none...
My hosts's server status page isn't reporting any problems with the server (and I have another site on the same server that's just fine). The server seems to be a little on the slow side today, but a ping came back just fine.
Any ideas?

Does the image itself show up in a browser (i.e. www.example.com/images/yourimage.jpg)?
Every so often, I have seen the images become corrupted (for the lack of a better word). They will not show up in a browser window, but I can open them locally with an imaging program. I then convert the image from a JPG to a JPG and re-upload the image and then things seem fine.

Glad it is working fine. Odd though why Kerio thinks the images are not being served on the server though.

That's what I though, though I haven't checked all the various settings and everything properly yet. If I don't get any joy from the help files I'll get onto their tech support.
