Digital Download Sheet Music site - 1/24/2006 13:35:59
Hi everyone, just went live last night, your thoughts please. http://maumaumusic.com I use FP to publish exclusivley, and did not check with Firefox or Netscape (not a big fan) so if someone can see if thoses browsers work for this site that would be nice too.

I wasnt that keen on how the animated notes came out, they seemed a little over powering to me also. I might be able to tone them down, the client loves the animation, hard to talk him out of it. I thought I would get more critiques than1....I guess no news is good news?!?

slower notes might work better if you are going to use animation :)

Chris, I agree with the others, maybe slow the notes down a bit at the top, and try especially hard to talk the client out of flashing "buy me" type icons like those blinking "add to cart" things on your site. Nicole Hi All-- This is always a hot topic for forums here and elsewhere, so thought would throw this in....Have been around the marketing and advertising industry for radio and print for almost 20 years.... Client "input" is in my experience universal regardless of the format Have had clients insist their favorite actor read the ad even though they don't even speak that language, insist on a model for print ads just because, insist on animation etc. It is a really difficult thing to deal with...always must be handled delicately and with much finesse. Sometimes you just have to say No, and often grind your teeth and not say anything. Being someone who used to say the first thing that popped into his head, have over the years had to really learn how to take a deep breath and think before saying anything. Later of course have gotten really strange looks from total strangers as I start talking to myself while walking to my car... Scott

I am an engineer in a recording studio that works with all the Top ad agencies in my field (I build websites on the side), so I am closer to this problem than you can imagine. There is a creative engineer with years of experience behind each commercial, an ad agency that hired a 20 year old because she looked hot and works for nothing to produce the spot, and a client that has final approval before airing. I put commercial and radio spots together, video and audio, often times without the agency sitting behind me(or they sit the pretty little girl in on the session with little or no input). The agency gives me guidelines to go by, then they come back days later to see or hear progress. Then they add their input or ideas, or claim my creativity as their own:-(. This is often where the creativity is stripped from the spots. But, the client always has final say, no matter how bad the desicion. They are the ones paying for it all. They are the ones we are working for. Best commercials on air right now with the most creativity...I vote for Target retail stores, I bet the client just told the ad agency to run with it, then the agency told the engineer/editor to keep up the good work. Now in my case with this website, its not going to be problem changing the notes, but as someone as close to this business as you can get, trust me, the client always wins. Thanks for your input everyone, the notes will be fixed this weekend. Maybe this could have been better as a new topic?
