"slow" publishing - 1/28/2006 6:55:07
Hello...........
I update my web site 4 or 5 times a week. I have around 400 pages, plus another 150 or so in a sub web.
Up until the last couple of weeks the publishing process has been "quick". When I click to "publish" it has always under a minute or so elapsed time. on occasion it will be longer ................ things like "web site is busy" on infrequent occasions, etc.
However it now takes a very long time. Like 5 minutes (or longer) for the "Listing Pages" to complete. On several occasions it will take so long that I have abort and try later. I do not publish the sub web at the same time as the main web.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on this?
Might it be a server problem?
A problem with my computer? (I defragged my drive a month ago)
Are there any diagnostics or other techniques I can try to figure out what's going on?
Are there any special techniques to speed thing up?
I can publish individual pages only, this is usually much much faster, but it still is much slower than it used to be.
Any ideas are appreciated!
