davidwilp -> Help displaying picture (1/28/2006 15:25:37)

I am supposed to have a picture on the web page linked below. Instead all I have is a red X. I know I have published it. I can see it in Front page, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
David

Either the path to the picture is incorrect or you haven't uploaded the picture as it's definitely not there!

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/28/2006 16:29:09)

How do I check if it has been uploaded to the website. Kind of like editing online? Is it FTP... something?

David

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/28/2006 16:45:36)

I went into frontpage and I clicked "open web". Then I typed http://jasoncoolsite.com Is that how I get into the site that is actually online?

The picture name was different so I fixed that but I still can't see it online. Only in Front page. Please help.

Thanks
David

Try clearing your browser cache

womble -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/28/2006 20:08:44)

If clearing your browser cache doesn't solve it, providing it's on the server okay and the file path's right, sometimes it can be that your ISP's caching pages, which may take a couple of days to clear.

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/28/2006 22:26:16)

well can any of you guys see the pic?

Rocket Boy -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 4:46:43)

I got a page not found error. Have you removed it?

You can publish your photos and web pages very easily by right clicking the file or highlighting several (in the Web Site tab). Then choose Publish Selected Files from the menu. Then just enter your usual FTP login details.

womble -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 6:05:40)

Pic's showing just fine for me (that's assuming it's the thermometer one?).

d a v e -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 6:27:45)

spitfire -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 7:16:06)

Same as d a v e.
As of a few moments ago, I couldn't find any reference to an image in the code.

You once had a coded, but missing, image (red x). Then someone actually saw it. Now it seems the image code has gone missing, from the online version of the page, somewhere, sometime, somehow or am I missing something [8|]

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 21:19:30)

Sorry, I was playing with the site and I removed the pic. Then I had to go out. I will try to get it back on.

David

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/29/2006 21:25:13)

okay, picture is added back. Can anybody see the thermometer?

Also, I have cleared the temp files from IE and the history. Is there anything else involoved in deleting my cache?

spitfire -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 5:17:22)

Page - yes.
RedX - yes.
Picture - no.
This is the result of trying to view just the image in Firefox

Tailslide -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 5:33:17)

Ah so the image might be corrupted. You may need to go back to wherever you got the image from and re-save it then re-upload it and hope that the newer version isn't corrupted.

spitfire -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 9:01:38)

You may be right there, but, something does not compute 'cos womble saw it. Maybe it was a different thermometer, maybe not and maybe the goal posts haven't stopped moving yet.[:@]

Rocket Boy -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 11:33:52)

Don't despair or you will become like me lol

Just for your info, I also got the page but no pic, sorry.

Edge -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 11:55:36)

Your thermometer picture is a "gif" file.

http://www.jasoncoolsite.com/thermometer_0.gif

Don't feel bad, its an easy mistake to make. Been there and done that (lol).

Good luck, Ed [:)]

Edit: How that heck did womble see it if it is a gif file and the code had it as a jpg?

Summat to do with changing the goal posts, perhaps [8|]

womble -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 15:02:31)

'cos I'm psychic and clever like that [;)]

davidwilp -> RE: Help displaying picture (1/30/2006 16:48:20)

I downloaded this as a TIFF. Used photoshop to edit it and saved it as a JPG. I am pretty sure it is a jpg and I can't see it.

What I need is something that can show the progress of my son's fundraising effors. I was going to color in red as he collected more money and keep moving up the thermometer. Does anyone have any other ideas for this along with the picture?

David
