beachgirl -> Two <title> listings in some of my website pages???? (1/28/2006 17:59:39)

I just realized that the website template that I have been working with (which is a company template) has been putting the title tag in, but so have I! Next, I just realized that the website only puts the meta tags in for the homepage. I don't have a problem putting them in each page manually, but it sticks them down in the middle of the page, not at the top (please see: http://www.lookgreatstayyoung.com/whiteningforasianskincare/

How much of a problem are these two issues with the search engines? Could these be big problems?

Any ideas of how to fix...I hate to start all over, plus it's free hosting.

Is the one you are adding after line 1062? It seems you might have two heads. Ad then on approximately line 779, you have
<td WIDTH="1" BGCOLOR="#000000"><img SRC="http://www.lookgreatstayyoung.com/pages/images/trans_pix.gif"
WIDTH="1"
HEIGHT="1"
the <td> is not closed. This might be causing you some problems elsewhere.

As far as fixing it - how did you put them in & where and how? Did you just right click on the page & choose page properties?

Thanks for for reply. I will have to go in and check... I do not have the ability to look at line numbers, but that doesn't look like somehting I put in.

Regarding fixing it---The website gives you two ways to go in and edit.

1. Is thru a wizard called netjane.

2. The other is through the HTML editor. I have to go into the backend of my website with a username and password. This is how I was able to put the meta tags in. It looks as though I am at the top of the page when I am adding them, but it must be hiding some of the code. If you do a view source and then a "find", and put in "meta", it brings you almost down to the middle of the page, and there are the tags.

I hope this is what you were looking for. I am really tring hard to understand all of this

The meta tags go in the <head> It looks like you created your own <head> and usually most places do not let you edit the head of the document.

How did you put them in & where? if you just typed in everything into the <body> - that won't work. You have to be able to edit the <head> - you need to contact the company that supports that program and ask them, otherwise, it sounds like you are limited to what they support
