According to http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ your site takes 63 seconds to download for a 56kbps modem which is really too slow - you should be looking for somewhere around 10 seconds. Reasons for this are that you are using a lot of images plus a table layout. To speed things up I'd either cut down on the images or switch to a CSS layout or preferably both.

Your site is really pretty looking BUT there is no actual text on the site so people using text readers won 't be able to use it plus Google won't get much from it either which may well hurt your rankings. It's not a good idea to use this approach - even people who just want to increase the text size of the site won't be able to. At least I'd do away with the image for the central text of the site and stick in some actual text!

Edit: also quite often in FF when you first open a page the images are all over the screen for a second before they assemble where they should be - it's a bit disturbing!!
