Rocket Boy Posts: 409 Joined: 12/8/2005 Status: offline	IP addresses - 2/2/2006 9:41:04 Whe I log into my forum, after about 2 or 3 minutes (every time), a guest will appear. This guest always has the same IP address, is always there without fail within 5 minutes of me logging on but if I log out again he or she will also disappear. The IP address does not belong to any member and who ever it does belong to has made no effort to leave a post or join the forum. Does anybody know what could be causing this. I have no way of telling if it is a real genuine guest or if something has gone wrong. Is there any chance that somebody could be using the background functions of my PC when I am online? I only ask because I am wonering if the new IP address is actually me disguised. The IP address is not my regular IP.

I went to copy and paste the offending IP and they have now disappeared LOL I do use tabbed browsing an awful lot, maybe it is just something to do with that. The thing is, I use a few different forums and mine is the only one that has this strange IP add appear all the time. I am pretty sure that I am not being tracked. I am considering sending a link to this thread to Google in the hope of any explantion. what do you think? (in reply to womble)

Too much of a coincidence for me Taz... Going to consult my copy of The Da Vinci Code and look at online newspaper clippings about Roswell just to be on the safe side.
