Good free wiki software? - 2/21/2006 19:41:50
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend free software that would allow me to map out and interlink ideas in the same way as wiki software. I'm guessing most wiki software is made with php, and so can't be used for collaborative work on a Win XP LAN that doesn't have php installed. Any ideas? Any other software that works in much the same way? Sorry, I know the question might be a bit vague...

Thanks!
Kitka

Open Wiki appears to run in a Windows environment. I have no experience with using it though.

there are several great ones here:

As for php... the easiest way to get php up and running in a Windows environment is to download and installe XAMPP (also free) from Apache Friends:
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html

It includes the Apache web server (for Windows), MySQL server, and php5

You can also install php for free on a Windows server (instead of using Apache) but it's not a simple double click at that point..
