susu -> Links: How do I go about increasing them? (2/21/2006 23:02:46)

What is the best way to get your link on
other peoples Websites ? Clearly I need to
promote my site, and I do not know how
to get my link on other people's sites which
would increase my ranking. Can someone explain
some of the best techniques to achieve this.
Thankyou su

Isn't making lots of spam posts in various fora working for you?

Looking at the posts in susu's profile I would not deem this SPAM, call me nice [;)]. Also I see no link drop, again suggesting it is not a spam "drive by" (My coined term for a SPAM run [;)]).

Susu, I have great luck doing press releases, just Google the term. It will lead to a lot of press release outlets. Keep in mind though this is a short term solution as the press release will get cycled out within a month or two....hence the back link disappears.

Another avenue is to search out niche/genre specific directories. Again I would Google your niche+add you site/submit your site/list your site/etc..

You can also find some great advertising on sites in your genre that take placed ads. I would stick to text based if going that route.

These are just a few things that should get you going.

Take care,

Brian

Dear reply,

Thankyou for your kind help, I will try the niche directories, it is a great idea, I have not tried yet.
Thankyou, susu.

You can get a reciprocal links program. I use infowizards. Then invite other webmasters to to place their link on your site.
This works very well for me. By the way I do not think your post is spam. This thread is supposed to be about promotion techniques and reciprocal linking works. I would even suggest to the administrators to have a section where members can propose link exchanges. Check out the submitexpress forum. They rock when it comes to SEO and they have a specific way of doing this on their forum that works well. Good luck!

If the admin lets me I will post several high traffic sites where you can put your permanent links. I do not want to spam this forum though. They seem a bit touchy.

Watch where you link.

Recip links are easily sniffed out by search algos.

EDIT: stupid typo

quickregister -> RE: Links: How do I go about increasing them? (3/20/2006 16:25:26)

You can place your link at
quickregister .net/infowizards
leadclub.net /infowizards
promotionpalace .com
They are all high traffic sites. One is PR6 ranked.

Good luck,

I do know I stayed away from link farms as long as three years ago. I advise to do some serious homework first. If you link to a"bad neighborhood" you are taking chances. There are short term goals and long term golas. Link farms will help short term but harm long term.

I'll leave it at that.

Take care,

Brian

You also might check out Search Engine Optimization for Site Owners and Small Businesses. Michael writes some very informative information on his blog. He just wrote one one White Hat and Black Hat SEO with some links to Google, Yahoo, and MSN on what can help.

I agree with Reflect, if you know how to write a press release there are many sites that will distribute it for free, giving you a nice spike in links and visitors. Do a search of "free pr" or "free press release distribution" and you should get many results.

You could also find websites similar to yours and see who links to them using Yahoo's linkdomain feature, and then try to get those sites to link to yours as well. Kind of a targeted marketing approach.
