Frontpage 500 error message - 2/28/2006 11:04:00
I'm receiving the following message when I try to publish to my website... 500 I won't open a connection to 192.168.0.169 (only to 70.98.23.99) 500 unknown command. I've been publishing to my site for several years and have never seen this before. I can access my site using SmartFTP but I can't get Frontpage to interface. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

192.168.0.169 Hi and Welcome to OutFront That looks like an internal LAN (or NAT'ed) address. Also, FTP'ing files many times will "blow up" the FrontPage Extensions on the server. If that's a local machine and you have access, try re-installing the FP Ext's.

Nothing has changed on my end that I'm aware of. I've used a combination of SmartFTP and my Frontpage program to publish to my site and have never had any issues in the past. I checked my cp and it says the fp extentions are installed.

I checked my cp and it says the fp extentions are installed. IIRC it will always say that. It takes such a short amount of time to re-install those extensions. If it were me, I'd rule that out.

I'm home from work now and the program works fine. It's odd because I can access my site at work through my laptop and ftp client but not with my fp program. When I get home the fp program works fine. If there was a firewall of some sort set up I shouldn't be able to get to my site with SmartFTP either.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question. There have been some issues at work lately with out network connection. I'll talk with the guys who run it tomorrow and see if this helps them to better understand the problem.
