Norton AV blocking links - 3/3/2006 4:37:00
I came across this on another forum and thought it might be of interest.

I think we all know that Norton AV and other AVs have been blocking images of a certain size and file name for a while.

Aparently Norton at least is also blocking links with certain words in. Here's the link to the list: Google Groups

While I can't speak for other AV software, Norton AV has never blocked images or links. I've been running NAV for many years and never ran into that issue. However, Norton Internet Securty software is totally another story -- it does in fact block images and links incorporating certain key words or image sizes. I quit using NIS a few years ago when I realized what it was doing. So your link to the Google Groups thread actually applies only to NIS and not NAV.

NAV certainly has its share of problems, but blocking images or links isn't one of them.
