Form issues in Frontpage 2003 - 3/3/2006 13:51:32
Hello all, Having a bit of trouble with my form in frontpage... I have completed my form, and created a confirmation page, however, when I right-click and go to Form Properties, then enter the e-mail address to send the results to, I get the message: "This form cannot be configured to send results via e-mail. The web site may be located at a disk-based location, or on a server that has not been configured to send e-mail." The site I am implementing this form to is an employee-only intranet site. It is a subdirectory within a public site. I have created many many forms on the separate public site, and it works absolutely fine. I am 100% positive the frontpage extensions are installed properly. The files are at a disk based location, but I do not update the intranet when I am through making changes. All I have to do is click the Save button in Frontpage and the change is automatically made (no Frontpage FTP wizard necessary) to the web server. Any suggestions?? Thank you

Are you stil publishing the form? If so - just choose not to remove the email address & publish

I have chosen not to remove the e-mail address then published the page and viewed it in my web browser, however when I click Submit I get the following: "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly. This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed." Again, there is another website on this exact same web server that has Frontpage forms implemented and they work fine.

You probably need to re-configure the FPSE again

I'm having the same problems with FP2002. I have contacted the admin for my hosting and they have assured me that fp extensions are installed and configured to send email. I have also reinstalled the extensions on my site with no avail.

Abe, Welcome to OutFront You still need to publish the form to the server, you can't just create it. Publish to wherever your web is located http://localhost If this were a pushished form, the message would indicate missing or corrupt extnsions. If you get it in Browser preview, then it is a good indication that ... This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. Jennifer, Welcome to OutFront. Honestly it is better to start your own thread. Little late now however, so give us a URL for the published form page.

Are you uploading the files via http:// as opposed to ftp? If you upload your site via ftp, in my newbie experience things that require Frontpage extensions will not work. A previous poster alluded to this but I thought maybe it needed to be stated more directly for any other newbies that come across this thread :) Doug
