Any comments on my two sites would be greatly appreciated:

The first, stithians-fc is the website for my local football (soccer) team.

The second is a shopping directory, whereshallibuy.

If anyone can give me any advice on the second site that would be great - i've only been doing this for a few months and any pointers would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks
Tailslide

Hi

I had a look at whereshallibuy - the actual site itself is ok-ish - I'd redo the logo as it looks a bit jagged and it will detract from the site.

I think your problem is that there are so many of these portal-type sites that yours may get lost in amongst them. Also, from reading the front page quickly I thought that the sites in the categories down the left were rated - which on further examination I don't think they are. It looks like you have to go to the "top sites" section to see the ratings. This is a bit of duplication and may confuse people if they, like me went straight to the left hand list.

Presumably the point of the site is that you want people to click through to the vendors and you presumably earn money from that. I don't see anything wrong in that but I think you need to make it worth peoples' while in visiting you. I'd certainly combine your directory and the top sites section. I'd also think about adding something else such as consumer advice, a forum, actual customer reviews etc.

Stithians :) That takes me back me'ansome. I used to go skinny-dipping in the quarry pools. Aaah fond memories.
What was the question again?:)

<hehe> Uncle B has another "senior moment" :)

Stithians, overall a nice clean look, though I'd lose the marquee text and perhaps add the club's logo.

Whereshallibuy - as Tailslide says there are tons of these around and they pretty much all look the same to me. I'd also possiblity lose the Alexa ranking.

uh huh in me yoof - it played havoc with my erm... facial hair though:)
Interesting or daft item on the bbc tele news this afternoon. Some peeps reckon early photos of nessie were actually a bit of trunk, top of head and a titchy rendering of the rump of circus elephants. Apparently they were exercised in the Loch. And thus the leg-end began. :)

Unfortunately we dont have a logo for the footbal club - something I'm going to have to work on I think!

It's been good to get some feedback on the whereshallibuy site - i'm using it more as a learning tool for myself, rather than to make good money! (although that would be nice, as you guys say, there are alot of these sites around).
