Rascal -> Convert AI File Type to Jpeg? (3/8/2006 19:32:39)

Have a logo to use in Front Page, unfortunately it is an AI file type (adobe image). Consists of a small graphic with text. Guy got it from the printer who does his business cards, I want to convert it to a Jpeg file type to use it on his (to be created) web site.

Managed to pull it off Adobe Reader and paste it into MS Word, but it's a rectangular object with white background. I just want the text and small logo.

How do I do this?

if you can post a link to it i can convert if for you (asssuming it's illustrator 7 or less) ot if you have freehand/fireworks/photoshop you can open it in there

Alternatively you can import it into CorelDraw if you have it.

AI -- Adobe Illustrator file type. It's a vector file that has to be rasterized. Basically, what Dave is telling you is that he can do that for you.

Oh so you have to rasterize the image before making it jpeg......hmm

you don't have to rasterise it before making it a jpeg (although making it a jpeg will rasterise it) you can keep it in vector format (for example if you want to re-export or resave it at a later date in a different size) if your graphics app will import it in vector format

if you haven't got anything to handle that file format post a link to it and someone/me can make it into a jpeg/gif to your desired dimensions

I'm having such troble getting my bitmapped image to vector (i'm using Ill).... no idea why. I do everything the tutorials are saying but it segments my logo into different parts (it's mostly letters) and then I it's not smooth. I know people that will do it for me but I want to know how (mostly so I don't NEED their help in the future)

reformed hater - better post your problem in a new post in the graphics forum, so we can concentrate on the original poster's problem ;)
