Need advice on improving quality attraction results? - 3/11/2006 22:57:20
Hi- I have learned alot reading all the other posts. I launched our business site about 1 year ago so should be much better off from an aging issue with Google. I have a few relevant in-bound links to our site (about 50), mostly from articles we wrote, partner sites and press releases. We are not doing anything spam wise to try and get better results, and am focusing more on good content, than non relevant links to increase traffic. We submitted our home page and sitemap about 3 months ago to Google. My question is my site has been doing very well with yahoo over past 6 months; however, we have no luck with google. Is this purely because I do not have enough links to my site from other relevant sites or maybe not enough content? I do not even see any google bots crawling from my logs. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated as many of our business users utilize google vs. yahoo. Our site is at http://www.amassmag.com We are an investor magazine (business & real estate) for Arizona. Thx, Jay

Welcome to OutFront amassmagazine!!! You are in a nice position being a magazine. You can post on freelance article sites pieces already written by your magazine. These in turn get used with a link pointing back to your site. You now would have a targeted site with on topic content on the page pointing back to your site. This will get the needed "back links" (Links pointing to you that are on topic). I have a list of about 60 or 70 such sites. Please PM me if you want this list. Take care, Brian

I had a lot of success bringing Google to my company's site (Sourcio) by adding a blog to it. Create a blog, post it to a handful of blog submitting sites, and you will get some major love from the google bot. If you add an RSS feed (which I will do soon) you should get even more success with Google, some of those blog submitting sites will only accept your RSS. Some other sites will list your blog only if you provide a reciprocal link, I guess that's OK if you don't mind having their button on the front page of your blog, but do some research and chose the best one.s.
