How dare you post that on here????
I have work to do!!!
<smile>
as a huge Stephan Grappelli fan, his playing hypnotised me - first class (but time consuming..lol)
now ..to the site
fabulous!
but here is what I would suggest (if i can concentrate while listening to "there will never be another you")..the picture jumps out on the home page but then gets in the way of the writing on the other pages... i would change alpha to a lower percent to fade it more so the writing shows better.\
good job!
<edit> are you the musician?? </edit>

lower the apha. I'm not really skilled in image manipulation. What I did here was
1. make the photo transparent.
2. put it on the website, it looked terrible against the dark backgound.
3. Added a layer of gray underneath the photo and adjusted the transparency of that layer.

Do you know what I'm doing? I don't. Can you help?

Lost in pixel land,

steve

Nice site! :) The 'keep it simple' thing throughout the site works really well and I think any more content than that would be too much.

(though I've no idea what Dpf's rambling on about - but there's nothing new there :))
The text is a little difficult to read on some pages (actually - I've just realised what Dpf meant I think). Nice look though, and any site that has Pachelbel's Canon on it gets 10/10 in my book anyway! :)

:) you feeling okay Dan? :)

Btw Steve, something you probably need to take a look at - if you re-size the text, that background image starts repeating.

nice site!

re: background you could set it as centred (horizontally and vertically) and no-repeat

I thought the repeating image looked cool, the no-repeat one looks weird when you magnify the text.,

without repeat:

with repeat

If you could get the photo size to enlarge rather than repeat (which is what at first before I looked closely I thought it was doing, and wondering how you'd done that) that would be cool. That said though there is something about it the way it is though that works somehow....hmmmm.....it's a pity the pics don't line up more when they repeat...

lol....now you've got me wondering if it works better with the repeat!

There's no way I know of to have an image magnify. Opera does that on its own. I think the repeating thing works okay, best solution until something else comes along.

I was just using the increase/decrease on FF. The only way I could think you could do it would be if you had a text size option on the site and used a stylesheet switcher. Maybe a combination of css and javascript might do it. I'm not sure.

(you've got me puzzled now! :))

Switching Style Sheets? Here is the answer my audience would likely have: "Hm, maybe it is time I changed those drab bed sheets. Let's try it. Hey, this button doesn't change my sheets at all! This website sucks!"

Your site is one of the best sites I've ever seen that understands that "less is more."

I still haven't learned that in regards to my own site.

Great site!
