Golf site - Have a look if you'd like - 3/26/2006 9:42:22
This is a members site, used primarily to get information out to the members and also to attract new members and eventually business sponsors.

I'd be interested in your opinions on the color scheme and graphics (is it too white?); the flow/navigation; how it loads; and possibly how it looks in browsers other than IE. I'm aware of the DOC TYPE issues and alt tags and a few of the more technical issues, but that isn't my real concern right now. Some of the members are older and not real computer savvy and this will be one of their first introductions to using a PC and accessing the internet.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Nice site! :)

The only thing I would do is make a decision about whether to use the white or pale blue for your page backgrounds - sites tend to tie together better if they have a consistent look throughout. On the whole yours does, with the main page elements, nav etc in the same place, and though usually I might be a bit iffy about the changing header pic on each page, I think it works well here because your logo and the general look of the site tie it together, and they're really nice pics (it's just a pity they're spoilt by those little flags and holes :) :)), but I'd still make sure the background colour was consistent.

It loaded pretty quick for me on broadband, and your image file sizes are pretty small so that shouldn't be a problem. As we all know, animated gifs are a big no-no on a professional looking site, but that subtle tees image is very well placed and a nice touch. I like!

My only other comment is on the 'about us' page. You've a lot of information (and therefore a lot of vertical scroll) on there. Personally I'd split that up more onto separate pages, possibly along the lines of your section headings.

Very nice site though!

i recently got into a "vertical scroll" discussion where i recommended spliting into mult pages - I was reminded that for folks on dial up - they dont want to go to more pages..... once it downloads, they would rather have it all there ( within limits)

Thanks for the comments.

The banner pix are shots of the different courses that the group plays throughout the year, so i thought it would be a nice change of pace to feature one on each different page.

Blue versus white page background is the one thing I can't quite get comfortable with. It looks too stark as it is, but the blue on every page also seemed a bit much. I'm going to dry a shade of grey and maybe that will do it.

Clicks versus scrolling, clicks versus scrolling, clicks versus scrolling, hmmmm......

Possibly make the blue a little lighter so it's not stark but not too blue?

I'm surprised none of the ladies have picked up on that. Bit of a gender real-life accessibility issue. Are the comittee all crusty old misogynists over 80?

I like the site as it is.

I think the white page area is just right and goes well with the dark blue. IMO adding a shade of grey will dull the site.

I'm assuming that you clicked on the link? It's an issue that the members vote on every year and always has some spirited debate

That's my attempt at bringing a bit of humor to the situation.
