Hey,
I've recently set up < removed>. It's like an advance on the MillionDollarHomepage but a nice advance. Instead of pixels, the world is for sale via eBay auction. New countries become available every week and the auction winner gets right for the country for two years.
It's had a nice response so far, including local media coverage in London. I recently added a competition so that you can win Algeria in an attempt to get more people coming to the site which, so far, seems to have had a good response.
Hits are on the rise, as are bids. I just wanted, in the ligh of this, to improve it even more to get the idea to the level where it spreads like wildfire!
Any suggestions for design or additional content? Should I sell in USD?

I don't know whether that's a good or bad response. :P
The purpose is advertising. That's why someone would invest. Seems to have worked so far. :)
