Please take a look at
http://www.thelifeadvice.com

What do you think about this site?

- design & layout;
- functionality;
- optimization;
- and so on ...

I want to hear Your critique and comments about it and maybe suggestions...

Thanks...

That first page is just way too busy.

It should be more like a poster than a novel.

Short sharp phrases to draw people in and make them click through to other pages where you expand on the content.

Most visitors will be put off by the complexity of it and go somewhere else.

My first thought was that it was an informational site, but I see it's just a commercial site trying to look helpful.

I don't care for it. If you are selling stuff it should be more obvious. I clicked on "More Info" by one of the categories expecting to find an article or something, and it is just an ad for something to buy.

My first inclination was to just leave. I suggest you put some free content on there, articles, etc. or else clearly state that the website is for purchasing advice and resources.

I hate to be so negative, but I don't care for the color scheme...it's not a color that would put me in a romantic mood. I'd go for a more muted pallate myself, purples and grays or something.

Plus, I'd make your Home link a little more obvious...it's tiny and hard to see.

I have to agree with Donkey the home page is way to busy.

When I first viewed it I was confused as to what the site was about or where I should go to next.

Typically when I come across a site with a home page like this I just leave and go to the next site.

A couple of suggestions;
Make the logo in the upper left a link to your home page.

You could use some margins around the content areas as the text runs right up to the very edge of the screen and your borders.

Personally I do not like the text paragraphs you have centered I find it easier to read when the paragraphs are lined to the left or justified.

Without being redundant with what has already been said that is my two bits.

Cold and unfriendly was my impression. As Peppergal said, the colours are all wrong for the site subject - love and romance.

Also, your body font is too small for comfortable reading and is not accessible in Internet Explorer, as it can't be resized. Plus, if you resize the text in Firefox, it overflows on top of text below it, making a horrible unreadable mess.

It seems you have made the font tiny so you can cram too much on each page.
