sound card trouble - 3/28/2006 12:01:25
Hey.
I was hoping someone could help me with a sound card. For some reason my pc's forgotten were my sound card is.

This message shows up almost no matter what kind of sound I need to hear: Cannot play back the audio stream. No audio hardware is available or the hardware is not respoding.

The sound card is integrated in the motherboard and is an Onboard ac97 card. I cannot find any indication that the card is there, although it was just a week ago.

I you have an advice, I'm desperate to hearfrom you.

Did you check in your Device Manager? I would then try re-installing the drivers.

Thanks for your reply.

I checked the device manager. my sound card is not even on the list, and I did reinstall the driver. Perhaps I reinstalled it wrongly? I'm not sure that it can be done in any other way than the usual one.

Think it might be time to get a new card, hopefully you have an empty PCI slot. Can usually find basic cards for around $ $10.00 if you watch for the sales.
