Content and key words: please clarify - 4/4/2006 10:54:37
I've heard so many things about content and key word use - can someone PLEASE clarify.

I've identified 10 keyword phrases for my site.

I've heard that I should dedicate one page per key phrase and try to focus that page's content on that phrase. That the content should include the phrase about a few times so as not to be too spammy.

Is that correct?

Also, based on the nature of my site, I have a lot of hyperlinks with part of the keyphrase on one page. Is that going to appear to search engines as spam?

Here is an example. The page is
http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/designers/vera_wang_wedding_dress.htm

The keyphrase I'm targeting is "used vera wang wedding dress" (although the page features new and used vera wang wedding dresses).

I've written 81 words of text that includes the phrase "used vera wang wedding dress" 3x. Then there are 19 hyperlinks that include the term "vera wang"

Is what I've done correct? Or can I make it better?

And finally, key word, key phrase - how do I handle the difference. For example - "used wedding dress" is an important phrase for me- but the words individually aren't really important. Is there a way I should be treating that?

If someone could please clarify what I should be focusing on -I'd really appreciate it!

Content might help. You will see text and keyword density on there - hopefully that is a start

Thanks coby, i think that answered my question too.

but let me ask this.....

i am making an online store for a car sterio store. now on each page will only bee the pic of the item, its name ( such as KDC1234 and a technical description,

so how would someone find my site, lets say they typed in "kdc1234" would the engine find my site from the item title, or should i put every item i carry into the keywords??

Thanks
Lisa

I think adword and few other PPC program are good tasting tools of specific keywords, try out for a week and check it, you shall be able to get the effectiveness of particular keyword, this will enable you to get a data of keyword and hence you can better plan out your future strategy.

The search engines should find you with kdc1234. Usually you can put this in your <title> tag and maybe even make it an <h1> tag as well. That way it will help you with kdc1234
