Hey guys,
Just finished working on my new project: it's called WebPool, which is basically a place where visitors can find new, interesting links and webmasters can promote their websites.

Please could you give me some critique on design, coding etc... I'd also like to know if you think it is a good concept or not.
Here is the link: http://www.web-pool.net.

All comments are much appreciated,
GLD.

I see what you're trying to do as far as pool colours but it doesn't work. It just looks bland. Rethink needed. The site design is fine. The html code is invalid or deprecated and you have no doctype.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I'm having trouble getting the code validated - especially with regards to the embedded Flash.

If getting it 100% valid is something that you feel strongly about then give this a go: http://www.alistapart.com/stories/flashsatay/

I've managed to get flash animations (well ok one flash animation) to validate using this method.

The idea is nice, but you need to make the concept (and the website) a lot more interesting to make people — and especially web designers — participate. This means the design. It just isn't, umm.. sexy enough, if you know what I mean. Not sexy in a David Lachapelle way but more like this way.

The website in overall is OK and nice, but mere simplicity just doesn't work here. That's what I think.
