Migrate fronpage web site to another server - 5/2/2006 15:30:52
I want to know if I can copy a frontpage web site with extensions to another web server. Can I copy/move site without RE-Publishing the site. I want to bring up a new server with new hardware. I want to move web site with frontpage extensions. I am currently running IIS 5.0 on Win 2000 server. I want to copy my current web site to a new Web server running IIS 6.0 on Win 2003. Is this technically possible? Or do I have to Publish current site to CD or other location.

The only way it will work is if you migrate from the exact same server config, or modify the config files to reflect any changes. You can run into many issues doing this, so it is much better if you just do a full publish.
