Starhugger -> FireFox slow? (5/4/2006 14:50:18)

I recently reinstalled FireFox because the previous one went a little nuts. Actually I went nuts and downloaded more extensions than any six people should have and lost track of everything, so I just started from scratch again. I made sure that not only did I uninstall the previous one, I also deleted the folders that I found in Program Files and also in the application settings folders.

So far so good. But I've noticed that it's very slow, which really puzzles me because I had heard so much about how much faster it's supposed to be than IE, which is what I had been using. Any ideas if I've got some kind of setting wrong or something? I've tried changing the cache from 50MB to 70MB and back again, but it doesn't seem to affect it. It's slow to load from Windows, and the pages seem unusually slow to load as well. I'm running on Win-XP-pro with 1GB of RAM, so there should be lots of room for it to play.

I know there are a lot of FF fans here, so I'm hoping I can get some advice about how to speed up this thing. Thanks! [:)]

Best place to go is the Mozilla Forums. There are loads of suggestions on there.
