Tailslide -> RE: Why FireFox? (5/5/2006 2:58:18)

On the PC I use Firefox. On the Mac I use Camino or Safari depending on my mood - both of which are excellent! I do most of my work on the PC and primarily use FF for that so I'll concentrate on that. Firefox is one of a few "standard compliant" browsers - that is to say a browser that interprets the web page according to regulations laid down by the World Wide Web consortium. IE doesn't so, for my initial site building that browser would be a no-no. I always build according to the "rules" so I need to check my sites on a browser that follows the same rules. Firefox has a nice interface plus, and this is what separates it from the other "good" browsers such as Opera is that it has endless extensions that you can add to add functionality to your browser. For instance my most used extension is the Web Developer extension which gives me all sorts of clever extras which make my life as a website designer much much easier. I also use Adblock all the time too to cut out those pesky popups, popunders, flash animations (I can choose to see these or not) or anything else that I don't want to see. I use IE to test my sites during the build process but that's all. I don't use it for fun while browsing.
