Why?

Personally, I prefer to leave the hand wringing and crying to other forums, and I haven't seen much value in those 300 post threads on the latest updates anyhow.

Maybe you have something beneficial to share? Or, is there some hidden treasure on the Webmasterworld thread titled "Somethings Up Right Now!"?

Google may have hardware issues - http://blogs.zdnet.com/web2explorer/?p=173, but worrying about it doesn't help me, my clients or anyone else so - don't worry - be happy!.

I believe there is far more to be learned by studying something such as the sub domain authority transfer than you will ever get by worring about an update. If you notice, those spam sites aren't bothered by updates - and if they were they would just build more and move on.

ok...sorry....I won't bring it up again...

I guess you're just not concerned about it...

Thanks anyway...

There is nothing to be sorry about, but statements like, "Are you just possibly unaware??? ", make it sound like we're clueless. If there is something of value to discuss about the update - let's discuss. But, just pointing out the fact that an update occured a few months ago doesn't provide much value.

Probably the most significant aspect of Big Daddy is the re-birth of doorway pages. I don't know how long it will last, but all you need is a trusted site. Then you add a few sub domains, thousands of pages of keyword stuffed content and your favorite Webmaster Welfare program. Take the money and run...

I knew about it, checked my sites to see if they were affected, they weren't so I wasn't going to spend any time checking the changes out.

Thing is, as Mojo says, even if something had happened to my sites there's damn all I can do about it anyway unless there's some wizzo new method of beating Google.

Not picking on you but sometimes YOU can do things about algo changes.

My approach has been to identify that a change has occurred. I then research what the changes are. I then verify if my site has been effected. If it has not, call it a day. If so I see if I can correct the "issue" on my site. If not, call it a day.

I never really get wrapped up in all the hype. I NEVER post if I made it unscaved or if I got bloodied from the update. Why advertise?

Some people like talking in depth and picking apart the algo any way they can. They are just like web designers, just making a parallel analogy. They have their forte and enjoy it. Just like I enjoy web design.

Take care,

Brian
