FF problem - 5/5/2006 18:28:52
<shameless flattery>
I posted on the Mozilla forum with no luck so thought I would seek out the true experts.
</shameless flattery>

Firefox is driving me batty. Here is my issue: If I have an instance of FF open and then click a shortcut on my desktop to a web page a second instance of FF opens, which is fine. However, when the second instance opens it goes straight to my homepage, not the page designated in the shortcut. Same thing happens when I try and preview a page in Dreamweaver, instead of opening the page I want to preview, FF goes to my homepage. Any thoughts?

In this instance shameless flattery is going to get you nowhere. I just tried some shortcuts and they work fine and hitting Preview in browser in FP loads fine.

On your desktop link check out the properties. See what it says in the url.

Narrowing it down a bit. I misspoke when I said desktop shortcuts. These are not shortcuts but actual html files saved on my desktop. When I double-click one to open it in FF, FF opens to my default internet homepage instead of to the file I double-clicked unless there are no instances of FF running.

just so you know, preview in FF in DW works fine for me - have you been naughty lately?

The only thing I can come up with is that the file type for opening html files is somehow set to FF homepage. Try changing the filetype to Opera or IE, check it works in those. Then apply FF as a file type but don't just get it from the list, browse and choose it from the exe.
