Slideshow in Frontpage 2003 - 5/11/2006 12:24:07
Hello all, First time here. I want to have a series of pictures (about 4 - all the same size) continuously change from one to the other with a fadein/fadeout appearance. i call this a slideshow (maybe there is a more technical name). People have told me to simply embed html code but being a 'green' webdesigner, I don't even know what that means. Any help would be appreciated.

You're best bet is probably a Javascript slideshow thingy (technical term there!).

Have a look at this one: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm I've used this myself and it's fairly easy to set up plus it works on a variety of browsers which is a "Good Thing" - many of these scripts don't.

Follow the instructions given there and just replace their holding images with yours. If you run into trouble, come back to us.

You've described the FrontPage 2003 Banner Ad Manager which is accessed via the Insert command. Will handle up to 8 images and Dissolve can be elected as a Transition Effect.

Have never used the FP banner manager, is it cross browser compatible? Have always gone javascript or flash myself, always looking for new ideas and such.
