St. Pete Beach center - 5/12/2006 15:30:41
Hey gang,

I just launched this site and wondered what you guys thought. It's very feature-rich, though you may need to dig to uncover some of its gems. Do check out the various styles (4 ea.) linked from the info page.

St. Pete Beach Community Center.

Thanks.
Mike

That is really nice. Love the colour scheme, layout is great. My only possible slight concern is that some of the pictures were a little slow to load but other than that it's really slick.

[edit] I just found the sunrise. Show off! :)

Dig that crazy lizard man!

It's you're usual low standard Mike - really I'd put some more effort in if I were you.

Since we're all double posting tonight apparently - only thing I can think of would be to say that the programs in the Big List section look a bit lost - like they could do with bullets or something.

Mike,

Wonderful site! Loved the unusual colour scheme, especially when no pictures are used on the pages (Accessibility, Contact etc.), but I did feel that the introduction of some pictures detracted from the colour scheme on some pages.

Also, wasn't sure what some of the links were on the tops of the pages, for instance the down arrows and sideways arrows and the "e" for contact? What about an envelope?

Great site though, lot of hard work in that. Congratulations.

Nicole

OOoooh! That's nice! :) (Although I think the seagulls flying into the sunset would make the experience complete:) ) It's so irritatingly just about perfect, I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it! :)

Thanks guys.

I did that list as a definition list, I guess an unordered list with bullets would've been better. Good call.

@jaybee... haha, you kidder you.

I like it a lot. ver beachy color scheme. my only question/comment is what's with the flicker while changing pages and the sunrise. maybe it's just IE:) but when ever the page changes theres a terrible flicker!

2 cents from a noob!:)

You're so right monkey. It is an IE issue (though it's fine in IE 7). I love doing banner rollovers like that, but the majority of the time I save it as a response to focus instead of hover because of that stupid flicker.

[rant]
Makes me angry that IE 6 is so screwy, because I'm a hover nut and hate having to cool my jets because of a browser malady.
[/rant]

I've only seen the site twice in IE 6 and it wasn't behaving too badly. In you ropinion, do you think I should remove the hover effect on the banner? I mean, is it really horrible or more tolerable.

[re-rant]
Grrr. Choices like this suck
[/re-rant]

Wow, triple post, double rant. I have ask myself: "Self, do you feel better? Did you get that out of your system?"

[re-re-rant]
Hell no, lol
[/re-re-rant]

Mike

No, feel free to rant away. There's nothing more annoying than getting a page exactly how you want it, then firing up IE and having all your hopes, dreams and aspirations cruelly dashed on the rocks of browser naffness.

Well put. I shall now cast myself off the highest cliff. Aiming for Bill Gate's head :)

It's fun and great. Very original and creative.

Even the font choice is great. I didn't know Trebuchet looks that good italized.
