d a v e Posts: 4071 Joined: 7/24/2002 From: England (but live in Finland now) Status: offline	print style sheets and text size - 5/13/2006 9:39:12 hmm here's a thought - what if my site is fully accesible (well as fully as i can believe it to be;) but if users want to print out a page or two of say an article but in my print styles i've used something in the region of 12 or 14 point (quite 'normal') for body (traditional use of the word) text then that's what they get when they print it - even if they resize in firefox/IE first they still have no way (?) of resizing it for print. do i need to offer an alternative print style sheet with LAAARGE font size?? :( _____________________________ David Prescott Gekko web design

S'pose you could switch them via php but I'm not sure you need to. I've just had a quick look at all the "usual suspects" accessibility-wise and none of them offer anything but a "normal" print stylesheet. I suppose it could be argued that the printed page is much like the web page in that the user can use another device (i.e. a browser or a magnifying glass/glasses etc) to increase the text if they want to. Problems arise on the web when clumsy coding doesn't allow the browser to do that or mucks up the page if they do. Also you've got the whole "don't cost your user a packet in printer ink" thing. Anyone who is completely blind would either print it to braille or print and put it on a scanner/reader. _____________________________ If it ain't broke..... fix it until it is.
