mals-e & mtracker tool - 5/16/2006 9:30:41
Hi,
I use the mals-e.com free version for some time now, but recently I decided to use the Affiliate Program feature of it and I can't really get the mtracker feature to work. That is I placed the banner on a customer's site (is also friend) to try it out, but no luck.
This is what I did:
A test Affiliate Account all set
in the mTracker Lite Setup:
the Program description,
URL for more info,
in the commissions paid, I chose pay per sale,
pay the primary affiliate an X% of the sale,
in the Tracking: Persistent cookies live for 90days.
Now although it looked fine, when I clicked on the banner (contains my site's url) from the friend's site to mine and I made a test purchase, nothing unusual happened.
Logging in mals-e, it looks like the purchase comes like that and not through the site. In other words, the transactions section of the Affiliate record is empty which means the click was not tracked. Does anyone know where I go wrong?

I am posting the answer:
I asked also Mal Stewart who updated the following areas:
1. In my main account:
He updated the Setup Links and {a}www.yourSite.aaa {/a}
2. In the affiliate account:
in the Links:
<ahref="http://ww8*.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=www.yourSite.aaa&afid=13774**&tm=90&im=1"target="top>www.yourSite.aaa
*whatever number he gives you
**the Affiliate's ID number
For the transaction to show paid in the Affiliate's Account, you have to go to the All Transaction section in your account and mark it as Allocated meaning paid.
