Where is the server system log? - 5/17/2006 9:22:04
I am trying to publish a website that includes a form that is meant to send its content to an email address.

When i click Submit I get an error message that says: "FrontPage Error.

User: please report details to this site's webmaster.

Webmaster: please see the server's system log for more details. "

Simple question - where is that log file? I have full access to the host server, I am just not sure where to look for the info.

Thanks in advance.

PS: despite installing and activating FT SE (I am with Yahoo Small Business), and then reseting it again, just to make sure, I still get a reply that FP SE are not installed on my site from http://www.dnswiz.com/fptype.asp.

The server logs are usually only accessible by a network admin.

You should contact Yahoo tech support for details...

If you could post a URL then that might be helpful?

Just spoke to Yahoo support. The guy seem very well informed. According to him Yahoo only host on UNIX servers, and since MS don't offer FP 2k3 drivers
for UNIX, their FPSE support is limited (e.g. doesn't support emailing form results, etc).

Does that make sense? Just want to make sure before I move to another host... Also, since I intend to use FP for web publishing, should I opt for Windows-based hosting to ensure FULL FPSE support?

sorry for the delay.

If the FPSE are not available and they host on UNIX, then there are a number of good scripts available for form to e-mail.

Yahoo itself should have something available for you, that could be quickly and easily installed
