A couple questions - 5/20/2006 14:17:54
Hello all I got a couple questions

First question is I downloaded a stock template from this site which is really cool and easy to work with its good stuff anyway I was woundering where it says site name here how do you put your site name there.

Second question is I made a forum on Aimoo.com which was simple and all free so it seemed like a good option for what I was looking for anyway when when I was finished making my forum they gave me a url where my forum can be found and I was woundering how to make it so when you press forum on the menu on the home page of my site it goes to the forum that I made.

Thank you
jaybee

Welcome, you sound like you're new to FrontPage.

First Question. The template. It depends on what it is, how it's been put together as to how you change the name. If it's one of Tom's templates then I thought they normally have a readme file? What's the name of the template?

Second. To link to your Aimoo forum you need to put the url they give you as a hyperlink on the button you want to click. So with your page open in Frontpage design view, click the button to highlight it, go to Insert>Hyperlink on the menu bar and put the url in the box of the popup.

Aimoo has a help forum you can reach from the menu in your admin panel and also a Masters forum. In Masters you can post questions like this and loads of people will tell you how they've done things. Joy and Blink are mods and they're great so don't be afraid of asking them for help. Tell them Jaybee sent you. :)

If you need more help with FrontPage stuff then I suggest you start by looking in the Tutorials on here. Go right to the very top of this page and you'll see a thin blue bar with some links on it. One is Tutorials/FAQ. There's some good stuff in there.

Thank you very much both problems solved

I got one other question if you dont mind is there a away to hide your affiliate id code in an affiliate text link. Say if your an affiliate to lets say www.whatever.com they give you the text link and it come out like www.whatever.comid2843 or something like that, is it possible to leave your affiliate code in there and have it just say www.whatever.com

Hide it so that people can't see it on the page or hide it so that it doesn't appear in the taskbar?

If it's just on the page then you do it via the pop-up that I mentioned above. Take a look at the picture I've attached. The link itself is at the bottom but what appears on the page is at the top. Just type whatever you want to be seen in the top one.

If you have any more questions I may be offline for a while, we have a huge lightening storm just started and I'm switching off. Be back when it's finished.

Hide it so people cant see it on the page. I was thinking can I do the same thing I did with the fourm. So put the address www.whatever.com and hyperlink that to the text like that the affiliate gives you.
