file structure within front page - 5/23/2006 22:11:10
Hi everyone - I have a few problems I'm hoping someone here can help me with. I have 3 sites created with Frontpage, all on the same host. I will also say that this host was for me a very bad choice, but enough on that, until later.

Anyway, recently, I lost my computer. I have a sort of old backup copy, but I was told that I could start the web site live and reload it to my computer. I tried this, and it worked. Everything appeared to be fine until I made a correction to one of these pages, and published the changed page to the host.

Now what happens is that web site #1 opens when I hit a shortcut for site #2. I have a copy of the file structure that I can e-mail to someone or maybe upload to here, if you guys want to see it. I think that somehow when I puiblished my changes, the files from these pages got mixed up and possibly combined. I am a little hesitant now about going in there and making changes. Does anyonbe here know how I could fix this ?

thanks in advance - tt

is the shortcut you are referring to on your desktop?.. what happens when you type in the web address of site #2 in your browser?

Hi there - I did some rearranging of the files within frontpage and I think I got it. Now the correct sites come up when I hit their corresponding addresses. But, now for some reason, I can't upload (publish) any changes. I don't know what the problem is yet, but I'm going to try it over the weekend and see what I can find.

ok - I just tried to publish a change and it looked like it was working for a while, and then I got this message -

Could not find a web server at theftaconnection.com on port 80. Pls check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If you are sure that everything is correct, the web server may be temporarily out of service.

It looks like its the server, but I haven't been able to publish changes since I reconstructed my sites. Anyone have this happen to them ?
