Ahhh yes, the help file, the one with no help in it. [:D]

So far I like the new Web Designer, but it's the new Graphic designer that I've been really excited about. The Vector/raster conversion is really nice and the photo stitching awesome - really too many great features to mention here. You should download it too!

I did, ages ago. It looked OK but as I already have PSP and Photoshop it seemed a bit pointless using that too.

I used PSP for along time but have recently been using Fireworks. It works well.

Ahhh errr yes, I forgot, I've got that as well. I sometimes get the feeling that I have way too many graphics packages. A quick hunt has just revealed Gimp, Xara and Serif too. [&:]

It's a separate download and it does have some help tips and tutorials in there, not all are covered but enough to give it a read.

My problem is, unless it combines the best parts of PSP and Photoshop CS2 then it's pointless me having yet another package to take up vast amounts of space on my machine. Plus, having spent a load of cash on those two, paying out for another one is daft. I have no idea whether these betas will expire.

Downloaded the other day, after you it was posted, thanks, and played a bit with their templates and just looking around. Looked really good. I like all the different things and the ability to use them. Seems friendly enough.

Today, I was playing a bit with ASP.NET data controls. I'm liking these too. Seems to be pretty easy to get around and do things with data, and with reasonably created code (with my little vb .net knowledge). Overall too, I think it is quite an improvement compared to FP. Was having lots of crashes though when playing with the data controls. Hopefully those will go away when the final product is out. I can see myself getting this and using instead of FP when it is ready to go.

I had the crashes also. I'd say the folks in Redmond still have some work to do. Darn good start!!

All of us using Win 2000 just love Expressions. [:(]

traveler98 -> RE: Anyone else downloading Expressions? (6/6/2006 13:09:34)

Anybody besides me suddenly having trouble editing live in FP since installing Expressions?

It is not just on one site, but any I try and open live with FP. It lets me edit, but when I attempt to save get error message and FP closes. Can open site on computer and then publish with no problems. Never had this problem until I installed Expresssions...maybe just paranoid, but what do you think?

Got MS office cd and did the reinstall fix corrupt file option and no better. Haven't uninstalled Expression yet will wait to see if anybody else has ideas. Have not seen anything else on MS site or other forums.

Thomas Brunt -> RE: Anyone else downloading Expressions? (6/6/2006 15:28:10)

I have been using Expression for over a month, and I edit client sites live in FP and in Expression every day. I have not had any problem at all with that.

Was afraid of that.....any ideas?

powersitedesign -> RE: Anyone else downloading Expressions? (6/15/2006 2:21:00)

I have been playing w/ Expression for about a week or so now and I have to be honest, I love the theory behind it, it looks great. I am sure that there will be a learning curve for me on it until I know exactly where everything is at, etc., but for the most part I am very pleased.

With that being said about the functionality, I have noticed that when I have expression open, my overall performance on my pc becomes stressed and sometimes sluggish. I am attributing that right now to the fact that it is still in beta. Hopefully by the time it makes it to the shelves they will have gotten all of the bugs out of it.
