Hi, I'm the webmaster of Wikology

Its a dmoz/wiki mashup directory of sites, so almost everything is editable and everyone can add their sites for free.

Want to get some feedbacks/suggestions on the general feel of the site... Thanks

Hi and welcome.

It's nice and clean but I would suggest making the blue body text darker. It's small, and small and pale are not good when you get past 40.

The other thing that I found odd was the categories. I have a niche site that's always difficult to place in directories so I tried working out where it would go in yours.

I usually go for Regions UK and then Dunstable. I got to Regions> UK> England and started going through the letters (think you need more sub cats) found C, hit next 200, got a couple of Ds, hit next 200 and got all Es. So, I hit Previous 200 and errrr see below. Confused are me! Backwards?

Thanks, I'll try to work on those things... Actually, the categories work like tags so if you can't find a suitable category to put your site in you can just add another category. As to getting the entries backwards, I'm still working on that... cleaning out inactive categories and the like... [:D]

Make the “Views” and “Toolbox” look more like part of the article. Right now they look like website navigation. See how Wikipedia did it: they are displayed as if they were tabs of the document, as in MS Windows interfaces.

The text entered in the search field is HUGE. I think that's really not necessary.

The color scheme is lively and nice, you do have design eye. I like the block-like composition of the page, but do refine it a bit: there are some distracting gaps and some colors don't go well together. I'm personally a big fan of blocks and squares on websites, you can do miracles with them. I think it fits a website of this type really well.

it's a nice design and I like the layout.

Yuo have too much free webspace at the bottom, so either fill it with something, or display less ews items on the right
