Does such a thing exist? I've spent the morning trawling the web for something that looks vaguelly promising, with no luck as yet. More accessible (they claim) css based image galleries where you can just edit the code easily to add pics than you can shake a stick at, but client's wanting nice database-driven admin panel add an image with a click of a button type of thing.

I'm doubting there is anything around that'll do it out of the box without some serious hacking it to bits, but I thought I might as well ask. Scooch looked vaguelly promising for a moment or two - apparently you can now add images in zipped folders but isn't database driven and I'm not sure how user friendly adding images is for non-techies. Personally I'd prefer to use the keep it simple css method, but....*sigh*

Without wanting to bring it up yet again - but there are quite a few Wordpress add-ons that might do the trick plus you can say that they're DB driven.

I'm playing with Zoom Gallery which loads into Joomla at the moment. It's not bad. Fully client editable and you can set limits.

In mine I've turned off all the lightbox links and search features as I don't particularly want people to be downloading all the images en masse.

Thanks. I'll check those out in more detail. I've had a quick look and Gallery and Zoom look promising. Problem with building my own - I know sod all about MySQL apart from I need it to keep my forums running. [:D]

I have just found another interesting possibility on my travels - Plogger - which also seems it might be a contender.

Earlier today I found this - totally lovely and would probably suit the intended project down to the ground, but totally inaccessible and invalid, relies on javascript, etc. etc.

Damn, I wish I wasn't a validation control freak obessed with accessibility sometimes! [;)]
