.dwt's passing over .php files... - 6/15/2006 2:13:19
We have a client that is using Frontpage to update / maintain their website. To protect the sites outer shell, we opted to go w/ .dwt's (this will also save the client money in the long run should we have to go in to do anything on the site as well). Everything is working fine w/ the .dwt's on the .htm pages but as I am sure that most of you who have ever used .php w/ .dwt's before, 90% of the time, unless you have opened and modified one of your .php files prior to updating the .dwt file that the .php pages will be passed over by frontpage (opened as a text error) when global edits are being made on the site.

is a link to an earlier post (back in 2004) that Dan had explained to someone else how to work around this issue I think. Aside from the method that I have outlined above and that Dan mentioned back in 2004 as a workaround for this issue, has anyone else got a workaround that might work for my client?

He told me that he had tried the method that I outlined and it did not work for him on his machine? He has FP2003 running. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
