To be honest, the first thing that put me off about the site was the animated gif which didn't seem to serve any useful purpose. There's nothing on the home page at all to tell you what the site's about. That said,
Second thing, the text on the menu is far too small. It's not an easy to read font and I had to increase the text size a couple of times before I could make it out well enough to figure out which to press.
With your text, though you're fine on contrast between the text and background, all of your text is in italics, which makes it very difficult to read, especially where there are large blocks of text. You should only use italics for emphasis and for small amounts of text.
Overall though, it's quite a nice looking site and the colours work well together.
