fej012 -> 403 forbidden error when publishing (6/26/2006 11:00:15)
|
I apologize in advance for the length...there's no short way to describe the problem. I've been working with FP for about four years now, but I am still rather new to it. About three weeks ago I started a website on a server (affordable multimedia). I went to publish the site but got this message: "403 Forbidden Forbidden You don't have permission to access /_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/1.3.36 Server at www.malonecatholic.com Port 80." It happens just about every time I publish. Only once or twice did the upload go through completely. The support staff cannot figure it out. We've both reinstalled fp extensions, uninstalled then installed; I've reintalled fp on my computer; they've done the following: updated frontpage on their server and initialised fpsuexec, and updated permission set on service.pwd file to 600, though I have no idea what that means. Also, I can access the server settings through cpanel...but I have very limited experience using the program. I'm really out of my element on this one!! Finally, the error log on cpanel gives the following statements: client denied by server configuration: /home/mcp6/public_html/_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe. Both me and the support staff are completely confused by this any why it won't go away, dispite all of our efforts. If you could help out a little?? Thanks a million!!
